Howdy! Welcome back to the Environmental Programs in Geosciences at Texas A&M University; welcome back Environmental Aggies. We continue to teach our students that the environment poses future generations some of its biggest challenges, that it is the life-support system of Planet Earth, and that we need to find ways of reducing our impact on Planet Earth and reverse the damage done in the past...just as we taught you when you were an undergraduate here. Things may have changed a lot since you were here. The B.S. Environmental Geosciences and B.S. Environmental Studies degrees were merged into the ‘Environmental Programs' between 2007 and 2008. A director and an academic advisor were appointed, over 30 faculty from the four departments in the College now are affiliated to an ‘Environmental Faculty', we have a office suite and, most importantly, your successors as environmental majors in the College are very enthusiastic and now number over 160! Thank you for returning to visit over the web. Why not come visit in person someday? Definitely contact us so that we have your details (link to Environmental Programs Office page). Some Environmental Aggies have asked me how they can help beyond giving back to through the Alumni Office/AFS; there are two ways you can help the current undergraduates. Could you or your company/organization take a student as an intern? Would you be willing to advise our undergraduates on career paths in your area? We certainly hope you and if you would like to do this please contact me. Gig ‘em Dr. Andrew Millington |
