Geosciences Celebrates Scholarship and Fellowship Donors and Recipients

10/12/09 - The College of Geosciences at Texas A&M University held its annual scholarship and fellowship banquet at Pebble Creek Country Club on Friday, October 9, 2009. Nearly 250 geosciences students, scholarship and fellowship donors, faculty, and staff attended with their guests.

Kate Miller, dean of the College of Geosciences, welcomed guests to this gala event, and Carl Jaedicke ’73, assistant vice president for development at the Texas A&M Foundation, gave special recognition to the 15 donors in attendance.

Over 90 students were recognized for receiving the 47 undergraduate and graduate scholarships and 19 graduate fellowships available through the college and its four departments. Introducing the scholarship and fellowship recipients were Atmospheric Sciences Department Head Ken Bowman, Geography Department Head Doug Sherman, and Geology & Geophysics Department Head Andreas Kronenberg.
